A BRADFORD woman has avoided jail after stealing items from The Broadway and assaulting police officers.
Abigail Spalding, of no fixed abode, was handed an 18-week prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months, and had to pay a £154 victim surcharge.
In total, the 19-year-old committed seven offences.
On October 24, she stole a coat from New Look in the Kirkgate Shopping Centre.
Three days later, Spalding stole an Adidas coat and men's jacket from JD in The Broadway.
Having entered as a trespasser, she stole handbags from the centre's River Island on November 1.
On November 3, at One Below on Darley Street, Spalding stole a woman's mobile phone and assaulted another woman in the store.
On the same day, she assaulted two police officers, one on Tyrrel Street and the other on Ivegate.
Her case was heard at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Friday, November 4.
