A NEW councillor has been appointed by a council in part of the Bradford district.
At a meeting of Shipley Town Council, a new councillor was co-opted onto the Council to fill a vacancy in Nab Wood & Moorhead Ward.
Following a vote by Councillors, Pedi Obani was co-opted onto the Shipley Town Council.
Cllr Obani said: “I moved to Shipley with my young family during the pandemic and we have loved making our home here.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues in the council and the residents of Shipley to advance wellbeing, peace, and prosperity for everyone in our town.”
Mike Connors, council chairman, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Pedi to Shipley Town Council and thank her for putting herself forward for co-option. I look forward to working with her in the months ahead."
