LAST week, Philip Davies MP visited the construction site for The Spindles, a brand-new retirement community, on Bradford Road in Menston.
The MP enjoyed a tour of the 72 age-exclusive apartments with CEO of Adlington Retirement Living, Dr Ed Gladman, Contracts Manager Simon Pallent and Site Manager Graham Frost.
Mr Davies said: "It was a pleasure to visit the construction site of The Spindles and meet the team. Menston is such a stunning location in the valley of the River Wharfe. It’s a perfect place to make the most of your retirement. Developments like this allow older people to maintain their independence and to do that while living in the heart of our community. I look forward to returning and meeting new homeowners when the project is completed."
Dr Ed Gladman added: “We enjoyed welcoming Mr Davies to the site of The Spindles. Our vision is to empower the older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with thriving communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes, providing an opportunity to enjoy retirement to the full.”
The Spindles, an Adlington Retirement Living community specially designed for those over the age of 60, is set to complete in Spring 2023 and is currently taking off-plan reservations.
A range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments will include quality fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, many will feature en-suite shower rooms and separate bathrooms and most will have walk-out balconies or a patio area overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.
The communal facilities will include a hairdressing salon, therapy room, activities studio, and a guest suite, equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite, for visiting friends and family.
The 24-hour on-site support team will provide homeowners with added peace of mind and, if needed, optional tailored care packages. In addition to this, there will be a sophisticated emergency call system and a security video entry system to manage access.
Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
Adlington Retirement Living was also crowned Seniors Housing Developer of the Year (pipeline) and its new retirement community in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, won Seniors Housing Scheme of the Year at the HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards 2022.
