A BRADFORD man has appeared in court charged with stealing nearly £100 worth of cheese from a shop.

James Wood, 26, of York House, Upper Piccadilly, Bradford, was given a community order for a number of charges.

In the first charge, Wood stole 31 blocks of Cathedral City cheese, worth a total of £94.70, from Heron Foods, Allerton Road, Bradford, on August 1, 2022. He was also ordered to pay £94.70 compensation for the offence.

Wood was also re-sentenced for three further previous offences under the community order.

He must also carry out 80 hours unpaid work in the community over the next 12 months in the terms of the community order.

Wood pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on October 14, 2022.
