POLICE recorded a motorcyclist on the A59 yesterday (Saturday) near Skipton travelling at 102mph.
Officers went to the area after members of the public reported bikers racing.
A spokesperson for the North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau tweeted: "We received reports of bikes racing on the #A59 nr #Skipton yesterday. One of our officers deployed to the area and soon captured a motorcycle travelling at 102mph in a 60mph limit.
"There is no excuse for speeds like this and you can expect to lose your licence in Court.#Fatal5".
The North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau is committed to reducing road traffic collisions and casualties by addressing inappropriate road use and improving road safety.
Its road safety camera vans are deployed to areas where there are reports of anti-social and speeding traffic.
Throughout the summer, police say they have unfortunately captured a number of high speeds across the county.
