Steel tags is a new and local lady's clothing retail and wholesale shop, suited for all age ranges at a reasonable price. They have clothing styles for everyone and have sizes going all the way down to size 4. From £3 and up the shop provides clothes for teens and older. 

Starting in 2020, the retail shop first made it's debut in Baildon. While in the midsts of covid, their first aim was to produce a boutique style experience for their customers. However they soon realised they could reach a wider audience if they changed their approach. This developed into a new idea, getting end of line clothing from well known brands and re-selling it for much better prices. This idea evolved and while they still kept the boutique-like experience they started reaching out to a different audience.

Then in 2022, October 8th, their grand opening of Steel tags in Otley commenced. With brands such as PLT, river island, nastygal, ASOS and pretty little thing the clothes there attracted the eyes of many passers by. 

When  entering the shop, you are greeted with walls lined with eye catching products behind backgrounds of white walls and walls stickers naming brand they resell. With wide window natural light is used to bring life to the small but well organised space. The overall layout of the shop is thought out to draw the customer in with two rooms separated by a archway door, the clothes ranging from £4-9 are the ones you meet first when walking in. The front desk is placed at the back of that room by the arch way to the £3 clothing section. With bright colourful and stylish clothing, this is the shop that one customer, Emmy Meachin, stated,"you want to go to for good quality, affordable and stylish clothes.

One aim a worker at steel tags said,"is to create a shop that's inclusive and for everyone."

The shop promotes a sustainable way of shopping. With 32 billion garments produced for the fashion industry each year will end up in landfill. Small step like this, reselling products and reducing what goes to landfill proves there can be shops that help reduce waste and give back to the community by offering better deals, especially in these hard times.
