A BUSINESS that provides occupational health services has revealed its plans for a “Northern Hub” in Little Germany.

Heales Health Services has recently moved to Bradford, and is now based at a property on Park Gate.

The company is already planning to expand this new Bradford base, and has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council to extend the building so it can take on more staff.

The application would see the full refurbishment of the three-storey building, which was vacant before Heales moved in, as well as a three-storey extension.

Part of the building is listed, and so the company has also submitted a listed building application.

The company’s application said: “The company have made and continue to make a substantial investment and statement of confidence in Bradford by selecting the city as their ‘Northern Hub’, purchasing the premises in the city centre and proposing to extend and refurbish their new base and provide both additional employment in Bradford through professional staff based at the premises and others located on a ‘travelling’ basis in the wider area.

“The empty property provided no employment for the City, however within a short space of time Heales provided employment for 10 new FTE staff members which will rise to 13 upon completion of the development, though it is very likely that over time further staff will be recruited.”

The work will all be to the Park Gate side of the building, with the Burnett Street side retained.

A decision on the application is expected later this month.
