PLANS for a food vendor to set up on a busy city centre road have been refused due to a lack of information.

A planning application to use the triangular site between Listerhills Road and Thornton Road for a food and drink business were submitted to Bradford Council earlier this Autumn.

The plan was for a food truck and static trailer to be installed on the site, along with an outdoor seating area, car parking and a cycle rack.

Applicants Salco Group say the use will only be temporary, for a two-year period.

Planning officers have now refused the application, saying it was “significantly lacking in detail.”

They raised concerns about the “tall and prominent” fencing planned for the site, which lies within the Goitside Conservation Area.

Officers added: “although there is potential to improve the visual appearance of this site, without more information about the proposed food trailer, bin storage area, cycle storage and seating areas, there is insufficient information to make a full and proper assessment of how these changes will impact on the appearance of this site, the character of the wider area, and the setting of Goitside Conservation Area.”
