A NEW website for tourism in Baildon is aimed at bringing in people from further afield as well as reminding locals of attractions on their doorstep.
The website - visitbaildon.co.uk - was launched by Baildon Town Council at the historic Shipley Glen Tramway, which is one of the places it features. It promotes places to eat, drink and stay, events, attractions and blogs. Local attractions and events featured include Bracken Hall Countryside Centre, Denso Marston reserve, Shipley Glen, Roberts Park the annual Harleys weekend and Christmas in Baildon. Photography is by Ros Crosland.
Although the main purpose of the website is to encourage people from outside the area to visit, organisers hope it will also be a useful resource for those livinf in Baildon and surrounding areas, including Saltaire, Shipley, Guiseley and Ilkley.
The website is funded by Baildon Town Council and designed and built by local company Assembly Marketing. Hospitality businesses or those who manage an attraction in Baildon can email hello@visitbaildon.co.uk to be listed.
Baildon Town Council chair Gill Dixon said: “Baildon is full of great places to eat, drink and stay. Even people who live here may not be aware of what is has to offer, so we hope this website will shine a light on the many things to do and see in the area. We’d encourage local businesses to check their listing and make the most of the free publicity available to them.”
