A TRAIN derailment is causing disruption to rail services in the Bradford district.
Train services serving Skipton have been disrupted by a freight train derailment on the Settle-Carlisle line near Petteril Bridge junction, off London Road, Carlisle, shortly before 9.30pm yesterday (Wednesday).
Police have said no one has been injured in the incident where the freight train trucks came off the tracks and hit some fencing at the back of a B&Q garden centre.
Network Rail Lancashire and Cumbria tweeted: "Disruption between Carlisle, Newcastle and Skipton. The railway is closed as we investigate an incident where freight train carriages came off the tracks last night. Please check National Rail enquiries for travel advice."
Northern tweeted: "The train involved is a freight train and it is the wagons/goods carriages which have derailed. Train services to/from Carlisle are affected."
