IT’S THE time of year when witches, wizards and ghosts come into their own.
Children dress up to scare - the spookier the better - in readiness for Halloween.
Here’s a flying witch and pumpkin trail at Bolton Abbey. Pictured is Sarah Jane Stapleton dressed in a witch costume flying over the priory back in 2012. She certainly looks the part and the ruined abbey is the perfect backdrop.
Bolton Abbey Estate is holding a pumpkin trail from Saturday October 22 to Sunday October 30.
It invites families to navigate their way through Strid Wood using a map and giant pumpkins. Clues will be hidden in mystery boxes.
The trail will begin at the Cavendish Shop. Families are encouraged to follow a different route back to the car park. Activity sheets will be issued from the car park kiosks. The Pumpkin Trail is included in the Estate car park fee. Pre-booking the car park is recommended. Visit boltonabbey.com/whats-on/pumpkin-trail/
