A MAN has been arrested for driving without due care and attention and possession of a knife after a police crackdown in and around a Bradford ward.

Roads policing officers joined neighbourhood policing teams in an operation in and around Holme Wood which targeted crime and anti-social behaviour.

A man in his 20s was arrested for driving without due care and attention and possession of a bladed article after a knife was found during a stop and search in Tong Street. He has been charged with both offences to court.

Meanwhile, two motorbikes were recovered from one address, one being confirmed to have been stolen on October 11 from the Eccleshill area, and another suspected to be stolen and taken for examination.

A third motorcycle, a moped, was recovered following a collision between it and a van on the estate, and will be examined to find out its identity.

The police crackdown took place on October 13.

A post on the West Yorkshire Police – Bradford South Facebook page said: “Bradford South NPT are committed to taking action against those who commit crime originating in the area but which often spills out in to our surrounding wards.

“We will act against those causing misery and victimising the good people of Bradford and West Yorkshire and will use all the powers entrusted to us to do so.

“Intelligence is a huge part of how the Neighbourhood Teams act and is essential to taking action against offenders.

“Any information relating to crime, anti-social behaviour or risk is gratefully received and can be submitted via the West Yorkshire Police website or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
