A DAY of action was held in the Bowling and Barkerend ward of Bradford on Thursday.

The multi-agency day of action featuring West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Bradford Council neighbourhood wardens, council enforcement officers, Parking Services and DVSA saw 11 parking tickets issued.

Vehicle check results saw 13 vehicles prohibited by DVSA, 17 defects were found and two vehicles needed immediate repairs.

Fifteen delayed prohibitions were recorded. All of these vehicles must have a new MOT to remove the prohibitions.

Council enforcement officers stopped nine vans, of which four of the vehicles were issued producers for waste carrier licences and waste transfer receipts.

The fire service presented a school talk and provided advice to Year 5 and 6 pupils at Byron Primary School.

Six students from Byron and two from Lapage Primary School helped the police with a speed gun.

Thirty-nine surveys were carried out in the area with a majority saying there is drug dealing near the bottom of Myra Shay Park and at the Bradford food store on the corner of Wingfield Mount and Tennyson Place. It was also stated bikes drive around Myra Shay Park on an evening.

Neighbourhood policing team officers also seized two stolen vehicles and located one chop shop.
