A COFFEE business based at an underground leisure complex in Bradford city centre is expanding.
The Coffee Booth at the tunnel entrance of Sunbridgewells in Bradford city centre has taken on the next door booth to allow customers more room to enjoy its products.
The bigger Coffee Booth will hold a grand opening event on Halloween weekend at the complex on Saturday, October 29 from 7pm.
This will form part of the venue’s free Halloween Family fun event, also on October 29 between 5pm and 9pm. A trick or treat will be held throughout the complex’s tunnels and people can visit in Halloween-themed fancy dress.
Coffee Booth owner Lina Easter marked the first anniversary of her business being open at the venue in July this year with a temporary alcohol licence, where she combined booze with coffee for her customers.
A post on the Coffee Booth’s Facebook page revealed details of the expansion. It said: “Exciting News.
“The Coffee Booth Yorkshire is Expanding!
”Yes I am connecting with the neighbouring booth to allow my customer more drinking space as we expand into a coffee booth & bar.
“In the meantime, The Coffee Booth is open for business usual hours.”
She is running the kiosk herself and started trading for the first time when the site reopened on July 22 last year after being shut due to the pandemic.
It is an independent business providing coffees made from freshly roasted beans, sourced from several Fairtrade farms around the world. It is Mrs Easter's first coffee-related business.
Mrs Easter sells coffees from countries including Papua New Guinea, Brazil, India and Uganda. She is originally from Lithuania and has lived in Bradford for more than 10 years. She added that in the future she hopes to further expand her business and her dream is to open a coffee and jazz bar in the city in the future.
The £1.9million Sunbridgewells complex opened to the public in December 2016, with more than 20,000 visitors in its first two weeks.
The site’s attractions include a host of bars and businesses selling food and drink. These include The Gin, Rum and Champagne Bar, which was formerly known as The Gin Bar.
The Coffee Booth is open at Sunbridgewells every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 7pm. It is open very Friday and Saturday from noon to 11pm and closed every Sunday and Monday. Go to thecoffeeboothyorkshire.com for more information.
