TWO men charged with burglary following a raid on a Bradford city centre phone shop are to appear in court today (Thursday).

Two men were arrested after Bismillah Phone and Accessories, on John Street, was hit by burglars twice on Sunday morning, and the suspects made off with electronic merchandise after breaking a window to gain entry.

Police reported that between 3am and 7am on Sunday, suspects smashed a window to gain entry and made an untidy search before returning later to do the same.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "Two men have been charged with a burglary offence after a shop was broken into John Street, Bradford, in the early hours of Sunday, October 9.

"Ronnie Brockhill, 40, of Dirkhill Road, and Jerome Williams, 29, of no fixed abode, have been charged with burglary.

"They have been remanded to appear at Bradford Magistrates this morning."

The shop owner, Muhammad Faiz, said it was "good news" that the men had been arrested and he said he was still hoping to recover the merchandise that was stolen.
