NORTHERN Gas Networks (NGN) will carry out upgrade works to maintain a reliable supply of gas to customers in Morley.
The aging metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.
Works are due to start on Monday, October 17, and are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete. It has been planned in collaboration with Leeds City Council.
So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the members of the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.
From Monday, October 22, there will be a road closure on Bridge Street. This will be on the Bridge Street roundabout outside Hembrigg Mill.
Vehicles will be able to exit the roundabout onto Bridge Street however will not be able to exit Bridge Street onto the roundabout.
This will be in place for approximately one week and a signed diversion will be displayed.
There will also be two-way temporary traffic lights on Bridge Street throughout the works.
Advance warning signs will be put in place.
