TEENAGERS in Bradford and beyond are being offered the chance to learn about filmmaking and get their own projects on the big screen.
The University of Bradford is launching a new course, open for anyone aged 16 to 19, in partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) Film Academy.
The course will run over weekends and evenings from Saturday, 26 November until January.
Zoe Naylor, a partner at Yorkshire film bureau Reel Solutions, which delivers the programme, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity – people will learn about every aspect of filmmaking, from pitching their own ideas to casting, sound, shooting on location and editing, all supported by professionals.
“Many of our former students go on to work in TV and film.
"Bradford being the City of Culture is no surprise to me, it’s already a melting pot of creativity.
“Never has there been a better time for young people to develop their skills.”
Participants will also receive a vocational Level 2 NCFE qualification in Preparing to Work in the Film Industry.
The course costs £25 and there are bursaries available for those eligible.
Applications for the 20 places are open to anyone aged 16-19 and not currently enrolled at university.
