A TOTAL of 2.5 million passengers have travelled via Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) so far this year.
The Yeadon-based airport also revealed 125,000 passengers have driven their car and parked at the site so far in 2022.
It has also seen 20,250 flights jet off to a total of 69 destinations.
The most popular destinations for people travelling from LBA so far this year are Palma, Alicante and Malaga.
A total of 66,000 passengers have decided to enjoy the site’s luxury lounge before their flights.
LBA released these figures to mark World Tourism Day on September 27.
Last year, at Leeds Bradford Airport 14,566 planes took off or landed, which was a slight rise from 12,312 the year before but still way down on pre-pandemic levels.
In 2019, there were 35,641 flights at Leeds Bradford, showing that last year flight figures were still below half what was seen before the Covid-19 pandemic began.
