A MAN has been jailed for 16 weeks after he was caught sneaking about on driveways.
Matthew Vear, 25, of Keighley has been sent to prison for going equipped for theft and four counts of vehicle interference.
Police officers spotted him sneaking about on driveways in the early hours and used their stop-search powers to check him.
They found a glove on Vear.
He was arrested for going equipped for theft.
Police investigated further and uncovered CCTV of Vear trying the door handles on four vehicles.
He was then further arrested for those offences.
Vear was charged and remanded to court, where he pleaded guilty to all counts and was sentenced the day after.
The 25-year-old has been recalled to prison for the remainder of his licence, which was April 2024.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "The offences occurred in Cottingley, Bingley, but this male travelled all over to commit crime."
