SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...complaining they had received a spam call.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
We received a call on 999 today regarding cold/ spam calls/text/e mails! We know its annoying, but its #Not999.

In its latest example, the team said: "We received a call on 999 today regarding cold/spam calls/text/emails! We know it’s annoying, but it's #Not999. The correct advice is below - Action Fraud UK."
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them. Another called to say their knickers had been stolen from their washing line and another wanted police to order them a pizza.
