THE mother of the girlfriend of a 15-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed outside his school gates in West Yorkshire has said her daughter described him as the "perfect boy”.
Sherrin James, who left flowers at the scene in Huddersfield, said her daughter Shyana, 16, had been going out with the boy, who she named Khayri, for around eight months.
The 35-year-old said the pair were “literally inseparable,” adding: “He was her first proper boyfriend. She absolutely adored him and he absolutely adored her.”
A card addressed to “Kharyi” was left with the floral tributes outside the North Huddersfield Trust School, while a GoFundMe page has been set up to give him the “best send off”.

A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly before 5am this morning in connection with the incident in Woodhouse Hill, Fartown, which occurred at 2.45pm on Wednesday.
He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing led by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Leeds General Infirmary for emergency surgery, but died.
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said: "This is shocking and desperately sad news.
"The loss of such a young life is utterly heartbreaking and I send my condolences to his family.
"I know the local community will be extremely shocked - we must come together to address the causes of knife crime and prevent these tragedies from occurring.
"We have been in contact with West Yorkshire Police and are working with them to ensure they have got all the support they need."
Chief Superintendent James Griffiths, District Commander of Kirklees Police, said: “We fully realise the concern Wednesday’s murder has caused in communities, and I want to reassure residents everything possible is being done to investigate what took place.
“Officers have been conducting reassurance patrols in the local area with support from the force’s specialist Operation Jemlock team and I can promise that all necessary resources from across the force are being employed in this investigation.”
What is Operation Jemlock?
Operation Jemlock, launched in 2019 in response to rising violence and knife crime.
Jemlock was created after the Chief Constable, John Robins QPM met with the Home Secretary and other chief officers in March 2019.
Following that meeting, a number of police forces were given additional Home Office funding to tackle the issue of serious violence.
