DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a high-value electric bike was stolen from a teenager in a robbery in Rastrick.
Calderdale CID would like to speak to anyone who has information or who is offered the stolen Trek Rail 5 full suspension electric bike for sale as enquiries continue a robbery in which males on a dirt bike approached and assaulted the victim on New Hey Road on Monday, September 5.
The incident began at about 9.50 pm after the 16-year-old victim first noticed the two suspects on a dirt bike at the junction of Greenhead Lane and New Hey Road.
The victim has continued to ride up New Hey Road and at some point, crossed the road before he reached the Sun Inn Public House.
As the victim got to the crossroads next to the Sun Inn Public House, he was waiting to cross Dewsbury Road to continue up New Hey Road when the suspects approached him from behind on the dirt bike, skidding in front of the victim.
The victim tried to get away but was struck on the arm with a baseball bat by one of the suspects, causing him to fall off his bike near the Spit Fire Club.
Both males then made off with the electric bike heading towards Brighouse. They were described as wearing black tracksuits and face coverings.
The stolen Trek Rail 5 bike itself is valued at several thousand pounds.
