Four venues across the district could host 2012 Olympians as they feature in an official pre-games training camp guide.
Three sports facilities in Bradford and one in Ilkley, covering 11 sports, are among 51 in the region to be included in the London Organising Committee's guide, which was revealed today.
The successful venues are: Bradford City Football Club, Bradford College, Richard Dunn Sports Centre and Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club.
Bradford City is being promoted for football, with the College listed as a place to train in basketball, judo, indoor volleyball and wrestling; Richard Dunn is hoping to attract teams for badminton, basketball, boxing, fencing, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, table tennis, indoor volleyball, wrestling; while Ilkley Tennis Club could be a training camp for tennis.
Bradford Council has been involved in putting forward some of the venues to be included in the official guide, and it is hoped their inclusion will attract different countries' sporting stars to prepare for the London 2012 games in the district.
Jane Glaister, the Council's strategic director of culture, tourism and sport said: "This is great news and we welcome this announcement.
"Being able to provide pre-games training camps will put Bradford on the sporting map and demonstrate our commitment to the London 2012 Olympic Games."
More than 600 facilities from across the UK will appear in the guide, to be published at the Beijing Games.
It will be circulated to all National Olympic Committees and National Paralympic Committees and these organisations will then decide where to base themselves so their athletes can prepare and acclimatise for the games in London.
