Aleema suffered third-degree burns to her face, stomach, hands, chest, back, thighs, arms and neck after she returned home from boarding school to discover she had caught head lice, and applied the shampoo.

"I went to the kitchen to get to the bin and whilst I was walking past, my hair caught fire as the medicine was extremely flammable,

"At first, I didn’t realise I was on fire until I looked in the reflection of the window and my mum started screaming. I didn’t think I’d be able to get through it.”

But now she says she has ‘become a better person, after all, she has gone through.

“I’ve gained confidence. It’s made me realise that not everything is about looks. If people don’t like me for who I am then that is their problem, not mine,” she said.

Aleema is due to start university in Leeds this year as well as continuing to make video content.
