A MAN has been jailed for a string of racially aggravated assaults at a Bradford store.
William Vint, 44, of Denbury Mount, Bradford, has been jailed for a total of 18 weeks for racially/religiously aggravated common assault/beating. These offences all took place at Farmfoods, Oasby Croft, Bradford, on August 11, 2022.
He was committed to prison for eight weeks for the first common assault offence. He was also ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge.
Vint was committed to eight weeks, to run concurrently, for a second charge of racially/religiously aggravated common assault/beating.
The other sentences included him being committed to prison for two weeks, to run consecutively, for a charge of racially/religiously intentional harassment/alarm/distress – words/writing. This charge, against a police officer, took place at the same site and date.
He was also committed to prison for two weeks each, to run consecutively, for two further charges of racially/religiously intentional harassment/alarm/distress – words/writing. These offences were against two other police officers.
The court found that the offences committed by Vint were racially aggravated. An indication of a guilty plea was given at an earlier hearing.
The offences were deemed so serious because blatant disgregard for other people and combination of offences.
Vint was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 16, 2022.
