A LARGE amount of illegal tobacco was seized from three shops following public intelligence.
Last month, in conjunction with trading standards, officers conducted three warrants on shops in Halifax.
One shop had 11,200 20-packs seized along with 2.65kg of rolling tobacco and 126 illegal vapes.
Another had 356 20-packs seized along with 83 50-gram pouches of rolling tobacco.
The final one had 211 20-packs seized along with 12 50-gram pouches of rolling tobacco pouches, with three bags of counterfeit tobacco still to be counted by trading standards.
A spokesperson from the force said: "Illegal tobacco not only deprives the inland revenue of tax but supports organised criminal gangs.
"This supports more serious illegal activities such as human trafficking and the supply of class A and B drugs."
