A BRADFORD district salon has been given a £30,000 makeover after a woman previously took over the business from her mother.
Fabiola’s Hair and Beauty, based in Halifax Road, Scholes, Cleckheaton, has been merged into one larger salon space as part of the work.
The salon has been run by Fabiola Robinson-Windle since October 2019 after her mother, Julia Robinson, had previously been owner of the business in the same building for 33 years.
The site features a number of hairdressing chairs for clients which also feature full-length silver-coloured mirrors, while there is also a nail desk and areas for clients to have lash treatments.
It has a white marbled tiled floor and a gold, white and cream colour scheme throughout and exposed wooden beams.
Fabiola is relieved the renovation work, which began at the start of this year, has now been completed, but she says she is delighted with the outcome.
The renovation work was unveiled in a post on the Fabiola’s Hair and Beauty Facebook page, alongside pictures of the new-look salon.
The post said: “I’m so, so excited to share the completed salon. After what seems like forever the renovation is finally done!
“Rental opportunities are also available. For hairdressing, beauty and eyelashes technician.”
The salon’s new look has also been praised by clients in person and on social media.
She recalls working for her mother when she was younger as she learned the trade.
Owner Fabiola said: “It’s amazing that it is finally done.
“I’m just relieved that the renovation work is all over with now.
“It’s great that it’s finally ready.
“I had to work from home and do mobile working, so it’s nice that it’s all settled. Everything is where it should be now.
“The renovation has been such a slow process. We got there eventually.
“I count my lucky stars that I survived the pandemic as a business owner. I’ve got to be grateful for that. A lot of businesses were going under. If you can survive that with a business, you can survive anything.
“It’s an old building, it’s about 200 years old. When we started stripping back we didn’t know what we would find. It needed doing, it’s a very old building.
“I grew up there. It has always been my home.
“I opened the smaller salon and I have run it since 2019.”
