MOTORISTS are facing five days of disruption along the Aire Valley trunk road, which is being closed between August 20 and 26 for road works between the Cross Hills roundabout and the Steeton/Silsden roundabout for those travelling towards Skipton and beyond.
The work is being carried out by North Yorkshire Highways and will stretch as far as the county boundary, approximately a third of the way along the route, but will require a full road closure.
A diversion will be in place through Eastburn and motorists are being warned of delays, particularly as the diverted route will direct motorists across the level crossing at Kildwick.
Highways says the description of the work is for 'surface dressing remedials' and the closure will be in force all the time with access only for emergency vehicles.
