Police are investigating an early hours car fire in Frizinghall.
Firefighters from Shipley station received reports that a Volkswagen T-Roc was ablaze on Lynthorne Road.
The incident took place around 2.09am this morning (August 16).
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said: “It was well alight upon arrival.”
The fire crew used one hose to tackle the fire while one firefighter was equipped with breathing apparatus.
It took under an hour to control.
The fire service passed the incident onto West Yorkshire Police for further enquiries.
The police force has recorded a crime of arson.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue – latest review
A report, released in July by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, said work by the service to keep people safe from fires was good.
The report added that improvements had been made since an earlier inspection in 2018.
But more needs to be done under the areas of “preventing fires and other risks”, and “protecting the public through fire regulation”.
