A MAN has been banned from owning a dog for years after his was dangerously out of control in Bradford.
Waqas Nasir has to pay £1,727.49 before Wednesday following the incident which happened on the street he lives on, Shuttleworth Lane, at the start of the year.
His black Mastiff cross American Bulldog with a white crest called Sarge must be destroyed.
The court said this is because the dog would constitute a danger to public safety.
The 27-year-old initially pleaded not guilty to the offence before changing his plea when he appeared in Kirklees Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 3.
The offence, which took place on January 7, is contrary to section 3(1) and (4) of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
He has to pay £1275.49 in compensation, a £34 victim surcharge, £310 in court costs and a fine of £108.
Nasir has been disqualified for having custody of a dog for three years.
The reason behind this is the court does not consider the Crossley Hall man to be a fit and proper person to have custody of a dog.
Two charges of 'criminal damage to property' against Nasir were dismissed due to the lack of evidence.
