A MAN had to be rescued by the emergency services following a fire in a high-rise block of flats in Leeds yesterday.
Bradford was one of four fire stations called at 5.53pm on Sunday to a flat fire on the sixth floor of a 10-storey block of flats on Oak Tree Drive, Gipton.
A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said one male occupier was rescued from the flat by fire service personnel suffering the effects of severe smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by ambulance services
Bradford, Killingbeck, Leeds and Hunslet fire station attended the fire and two large jets and four breathing apparatus were used to fight the blaze.
