Bradford takeaway boss sick of vandalism by mindless yobs

Buttershaw Spice boss Zaheer Ashraf has had it all in recent months, with youths jumping on his car, throwing stones, flashing their backsides and smashing windows.

Mr Ashraq came to the end of his tether this past weekend when the thugs used the roof of his blue Toyota Yaris as a trampoline.

After leaping off the other side, one individual proceeded to throw an object at the passenger door window.

Police say due to it being a busy day they were unable to send any officers upon the report coming in.

When they did arrive at the scene later that evening, a youth was detained and spoken to but nobody was arrested.

Further clips show stones being lobbed at the building's CCTV cameras.

The front of the shop is in a damaged state currently following an attack from youths earlier this summer.

Footage seen by the Telegraph & Argus shows two yobs approaching the shop with a metal bar in a threatening manner.

Mr Ashraf just wants to get on with his business and serve the community.

He said: "It is putting customers off coming to the shop.

"It is not just the shop being attacked but our staff too. One of my delivery drivers had an egg thrown at his face.

"I have been there for four years and had no trouble with anyone.

"Whenever they have damaged the shop or my car, I have never gone outside to pick a fight. I always stay inside and contact the police.

"As soon as the police leave the shop, they throw bricks and cause the damage.

"All we are trying to do is provide a service to the local community who have always been very nice to me."

A spokesperson from the force said: "Police received a call for service at 7.20pm on Sunday, August 7, regarding youths damaging vehicles and causing anti-social behaviour in the Strenshall Green area. 

"It was established with the caller that no one had been injured.

"Unfortunately, all available officers were already committed on emergency calls during what was a busy evening, so police attendance was not possible.

"Officers did attend at the scene later on in the evening after youths returned and a teenager was detained nearby after an area search.

"We do recognise the impact anti-social behaviour of this kind can have on residents and are carrying out enquiries into this issue. 

"A crime of criminal damage has been recorded in relation to damage to buildings and a car on August 7 and enquiries are underway by the Bradford West NPT. 

"Anyone who has information about the criminal behaviour at the location, which took place from 7pm,  or who can assist police enquiries is asked to contact the Bradford District Investigation Team on 101 referencing crime number 13220432666."
