A BRADFORD junior football club is celebrating after scooping another prestigious award.

Alpha United Juniors Football Club received the Spirit of Grassroots Football Award, which recognises the people who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across the country.

Mohammed Waheed, founder of Alpha United Juniors FC, said it was an honour.

He added: “We do our best to provide for the community from the juniors to the parents and it is great acclaim to be recognised for all the work that is being put in at grassroots level by our club.

“As most know the pandemic has had a huge impact on mental wellbeing and one of the main groups affected is the juniors.

“As a club we have focused on providing any help possible not just on the pitch but off it as well and this achievement celebrates what we have been able to do.”
