POLICE are urging motorists to be vigilant following a spate of thefts from cars in Bradford city centre.
A number of incidents have been reported to police over the last few weeks, the majority being in the car park on George Street.
Police said the vehicles that seem to be targeted are Volkswagens, where the stereo/console is stolen from the car.
Patrols have been stepped up.
A spokesperson said: "Officers on patrol have also noticed that some car owners are leaving valuable items on display including phones, keys, and handbags.
"They are giving crime prevention advice to registered keepers of vehicles which have been seen with valuables on display. Residents in the area have also been informed.
"Police will be working with the owners of the car parks to identify any further crime prevention initiatives we can work in partnership on."
Report anything suspicious via 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
