A MAN appeared in court after being clocked speeding at double the limit on the motorway.
Zahid Tabraiz, 38, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced for speeding.
According to court documents, Tabraiz was caught by manned equipment on the M62 at Scammonden on June 5 last year.
The speed limit is 70mph, but he was clocked at an eye-watering 140mph.
Tabraiz, of Dingley Road, Huddersfield, was fined £700.
The court also ordered him to pay costs of £110 as well as a £70 victim surcharge.
A collection order was made.
His driving record was also endorsed with six points and court documents state his guilty plea was taken into consideration when passing sentence.
Tabraiz was sentenced for the speeding offence on July 21.
