A MAN has been arrested after a woman was found with stab wounds on a residential Bradford street. 

Police officers were called to a report of an assault in the Manningham area of Bradford at around 8.45am today. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended Cornwall Road and found a 39-year-old woman with what was believed to be stab wounds. 

"She was taken to hospital for treatment and her injuries have been described as serious but not life-threatening.  

"The suspect, a 57-year-old male, had left the scene but was arrested a short time later by officers and remains in police custody at this time."

Detective Inspector William Tsang of Bradford District CID, said: “We are continuing with our enquiries into what is being treated as a domestic-related incident and there is no wider risk to the public.

“I would like to thank those residents who came to the woman’s aid and intervened; and to those who alerted emergency services.
