A 38-YEAR-old man has been jailed over an assault in Bradford.
Omar Hussain was found guilty at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 2 of assault by beating.
The incident took place on June 24.
Magistrates jailed Hussain for 24 weeks in total due to the seriousness of the offence, which was described as a “nasty assault” in court documents.
A five-year restraining order was also made, preventing him from contacting his female victim.
He must pay £250 in compensation and £154 to fund victim services.
Hussain, of Norfolk Street, Batley, was also charged with criminal damage and theft, where he was alleged to have caused £50 of damage to a door and stolen a bank card.
He was found not guilty of both charges.
