PLANS for a housing development in Baildon have been withdrawn by the developer.
In June, an application to flatted Westwood, a bungalow on Stubbings Road, and replace it with four homes, was submitted to Bradford Council.
This week, the plan was withdrawn by applicant C O’Connell.
The application described the existing bungalow as “in a state of disrepair” and that housing would be a better use of the large patch of land.
21 people had objected to the plans, and Highways Officers at the Council had also raised concerns – pointing out that Stubbings Road was an unadopted highway.
They said: “The current layout of this road lacks footways, street lighting and surface water drainage.
“There are also other similar parcels of land being served off this road and, if this application were to be approved, could lead to further proposal for development which would then be harder to resist.”
