A MAN has been jailed for assaulting an officer and detention officer at a Bradford police station.
Dean Watson, 41, of no fixed address, faced two assault by beating of an emergency worker charges.
In the first charge, Watson was convicted of assaulting a police officer at Trafalgar House custody, Nelson Street, Bradford.
For this offence, Watson was committed to prison for six weeks and ordered to pay £50 compensation and a £128 victim surcharge.
In the second charge, Watson was committed to prison for six weeks, to run concurrently, for assaulting a detention officer at Trafalgar House police station, Nelson Street, Bradford. Both offences took place on June 5, 2022. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation for this charge.
The court deemed the offence so serious because it was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.
Watson pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced on August 3, 2022.
