A MAN has been jailed for a string of thefts at a Bradford shopping centre.
Charanjit Singh, 52, of Cross Lane, Great Horton, Bradford, was jailed for a total of 28 days for three theft from a shop charges.
In the first offence, he was committed to prison for seven days for stealing two bottles of gin, to the value of £25, from Marks and Spencer, The Broadway, Bradford. He was also ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge. The offence took place on July 31, 2022.
Singh was committed to prison for 14 days, to run consecutively, for stealing trainers, worth £109.98, from TK Maxx, Valley Road, Bradford. This offence took place on July 27, 2022.
He was committed to prison for seven days, to run consecutively, for stealing four bottles of vodka, to the value of £22, from Marks and Spencer, The Broadway, Bradford. This offence took place on July 30, 2022.
The court deemed these charges so serious because they were aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending. A collection order was also made.
Singh pleaded guilty to all of the three charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 1, 2022.
