A CAR wash on one of Bradford’s busiest roads will be replaced by a new electric car charging station.
The Motor Fuel Group has submitted a planning application to flatten the drive through car wash at the rears of the Shell station forecourt on Canal Road – one of the main routes to the city centre.
Once it is removed they plan to add six 150 kw electric vehicle charging points.
The plans would also see a new substation and canopy installed at the site, and improvement works to the forecourt.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
In June an application to build a new filling station and EV charging hub the opposite side of Canal Road, on the former Stanley Cars site, was approved by Bradford Council.
