A BRADFORD man appeared in court after he was caught with a phone in jail.
Callum Ahmed, 25, of Sandygate Terrace in Laisterdyke, Bradford, was sentenced for having a mobile phone in jail at Doncaster Justice Centre, on July 28.
The charge related to July 11 last year when Ahmed was caught with an Apple iPhone in HMP Hatfield, near Doncaster.
Ahmed was sentenced to prison for six months, suspended for a year.
Court records said this was "to give an opportunity for the defendant to rehabilitate in the community now that the defendant is working with probation since his release from custody".
The court ordered for the iPhone to be forfeited and destroyed.
Ahmed must complete 15 days of Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 150 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.
The court ordered Ahmed to pay a total of £213.
Ahmed's guilty plea was taken into account when sentencing.
