A BRADFORD man has been fined after travelling on a train without paying the full rail fare.
Thomas Roy Michael Page, 23, of McMillan Gardens, Odsal, travelled between Bradford Interchange and Leeds on January 12 this year without paying the £4.70 fare.
During the journey, he produced an Anytime Day Single from Bradford to Leeds with a 16-25 discount.
Court documents state: "When requested the defendant was unable to produce the accompanying railcard.
"His details were obtained and he was advised the facts would be reported.
"Following the incident a letter was sent to the defendant requesting an explanation, as there was no response, a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent.
"However this remains unpaid."
The case was proved in Page's absence at Kirklees Magistrates' Court and he was fined £220, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and costs of £150. The court also ordered him to pay £4.70 compensation.
