A WELL-known philanthropist, businessman and pharmacist has backed renewed calls for a new train station in Bradford.
The chair of Bradford Economic Partnership, and honorary graduate of the University of Bradford, Manoj Joshi, said the city had faced “many years of neglect” when it came to transport.
The House of Commons Transport Committee called on the Government to review its recently published Integrated Rail Plan for the North and Midlands.
Liz Truss pledged Northern Powerhouse Rail would be built in full if she became Prime Minister.

Dr Joshi, who chairs Bradford Economic Partnership, said: “After many years of neglect this is an opportunity for us to create a bigger proposition.
"This is about levelling up, releasing the potential of our young people, to ensure they achieve their aspirations, and for the district to realise its own potential.
“We have an ambitious growth plan for our young and vibrant population, but we cannot achieve that without connectivity. How can the fifth biggest metropolitan city and district in the UK be left without adequate connectivity?”
