THE tragic death of a “truly amazing” mum from Baildon has not sunk in yet, her family have said.
Tributes have been pouring in for Lauren Howe, known by her loved ones as ‘lollipop’, since her death was announced on Sunday.
West Yorkshire Police was notified by Yorkshire Ambulance Service at 9.46am on July 24 that they were treating an injured woman.
It followed reports of a concern for safety on Aire Way.
The mum-of-two was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
West Yorkshire Police has since arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
Enquiries are ongoing, the force said.
Ms Howe’s death has touched hearts across the district with messages left in the T&A's book of condolence from relatives, friends and strangers who only briefly crossed paths with her.
Lilyanne Howe said: “I can’t believe my big sister has gone. She always told me that she will always be with me every step of the way, watch me grow up into a little stunner and celebrate my 18th birthday this year with me. I love you lots.”
Annmarie Bailey said: “Lauren I can't believe your precious soul has been taken. I don't think it's truly sunken in yet that you have grown your wings and flown away. R.I.P sweetie and SLEEP TIGHT. You will always be everyone's favourite lollipop and my sweet kind niece.”
Sharon Domanski said: “Rest in peace beautiful niece, gone far too soon.”
Joe Brooks said: "Absolutely heartbroken you was too good for earth my beautiful cousin you was the sweetest woman ever.
"This isn’t a goodbye I will definitely see you on the other side R.I.P Lauren keep that smile of yours shining bright up there until we meet again love you."
Mya Keach said: “Rest now Lollipop, I love you always and will see you in the next life eventually. You are my big cousin that I’ll always remember and always love.”
One tribute from a staff member at Saltaire’s Nisa said: “I see 400 people a day and the last person that came in Saturday night was you and you can just tell a good soul from the many rotten ones that we have to deal with.
“You smiled when I asked for ID (jokingly). You told me, ‘That's why I like coming here’. You said, ‘Next time I'll bring my kids as proof’, who knew there was no next time.
“Up there the Angels will be rejoicing at such a glowing soul has come through the pearly gates of heaven. God bless you and I pray the people who have been left behind are given strength to live again.”
