A NEW outreach post office opens in a village pub next week.
The service will operate from the Black Bull, in Haworth Main Street.
Post Office Ltd says the facility, due to be launched at 10am on Monday (August 1), will offer a full range of products and services.
Its introduction will follow the closure this Friday of nearby Haworth Post Office, which campaigners have been fighting to keep open.
Post Office Ltd announced last year that it proposed closing the branch and relocating provision to within the new Co-op store in Station Road, which opened in October.
A Post Office Ltd spokesperson says: “Since the opening of the Station Road branch, it has continued to see steady customer growth.
“Following a large public consultation last year, we established a forum comprising Post Office and community representatives to discuss concerns that were raised – specifically a key concern regarding access for elderly and vulnerable customers from Main Street to the new post office in Station Road.
“We are pleased to confirm that from Monday next week an outreach service will operate at the top of the hill near to where the Main Street branch was located. And it will be managed by the postmaster who operated Haworth Post Office.”
