HUGE extinct birds, living statues and breakdancers entertained crowds at Shipley’s annual Street Arts Festival this weekend.
A wide variety of performers, including dance group Clean North and Urban Angels, helped turn the town’s Market Square car park into a stage for most of Saturday, and events were also held in Crowgrill Park, Kirkgate Centre and Shipley Library.
Wandering performers included Thingumajig Theatre, who wowed passers by bringing huge dodos to life, and Artizani – a pirate pair who rowed through the town centre on a land boat.
In the early evening the underground car park in Asda was transformed into a front living room with couches and rugs for a live poetry event.
The event was been funded by Shipley Town Council and Bradford Council and produced by Shipley based Q20 Events.
