A manic depressive died when he slit his throat with a knife, an inquest heard.
Bipolar disorder sufferer, Derek Wilkinson, 59, was found slumped over the bath by his wife at his home in Hawksworth Road, Baildon, a day after being hospitalised for overdosing on prescribed medication.
The inquest heard that the couple had been together for 39 years, during which time Mr Wilkinson suffered two breakdowns and had made previous attempts to commit suicide. He leaves behind five children.
Recording a verdict of suicide, Coroner Roger Whittaker, sitting at Bradford Coroner's Court, said: "His only intention was to end his life but he only did that while the balance of his mind was disturbed."
