A 55-year-old man was left with a serious head injury after an assault at a Halifax supermarket.
The incident took place around 7.25pm on Tuesday, July 12, outside the Tesco Express in Keighley Road.
The victim, who suffered a serious head injury, was taken to hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
A 36-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assault has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police in Calderdale have urged witnesses or people with information to come forward.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, particularly a woman in a pink top who was walking a dog in the area at the time of the incident.
