WHEN Mike Conway, development officer at Bradford Cinderella Club, was checking the charity’s Just Giving page recently, he saw a donation of £785 from the Bradford & District Golf Union.
“I did a little more checking and found that the Union has actually supported the Cinderella Club for nearly 40 years,” says Mike.
Mike contacted the Union and he and Andy Busfield, playing captain of the Union, arranged for a special Cinderella Club award to be presented to members.
The presentation took place at South Bradford Golf Club’s charity Captain’s Day on Saturday evening.
Says Mike: “We arranged for the Union President, Simon Tabel, to be there and we presented him with a Cinderella Club supporters award.”
Bradford Cinderella Club was set up in the late 19th century to provide hot meals for children living in poverty. Today it supports children and young people by funding school uniforms, equipment and treats.
